Composition Grids
Rule of thirds, center and diagonal guides, drawn at 28% white so they read clearly without fighting the image.
Zebra Stripes
Two presets — skin tone 70±5 and clipping 98–100 IRE — or drag your own range. Blown highlights show up before you press the shutter.
Focus Peaking
Three sensitivity levels and four outline colours. Manual lenses stop being guesswork, and you never zoom to 100% just to confirm.
False Color
Every luminance level mapped to its own colour, so under- and over-exposed areas read at a glance across the whole frame.
Histogram & Waveform
The objective read on exposure. In daylight your screen lies about brightness — the curve does not.
Safe Frames & Aspect Masks
90% and 80% safe areas, plus 16:9, 2.39:1, 4:5 and 1:1 masks. Know what gets cropped while you are still shooting.
The tools that only change what you see
Grids, safe frames, aspect masks, zebra, false color, peaking, scopes, desqueeze, flip, rotate and the portrait/landscape switch all live on your phone. Switch one off and the view goes straight back — nothing is written to the camera, and nothing appears in your files.
The three that change what you shoot
Creative Look is written into the camera, so the frame you see is the frame you capture. Camera settings — ISO, shutter, aperture, white balance, exposure compensation — are sent to the body the same way. And the shutter button fires the camera.
Requires iOS 16 or later and a Sony body that supports USB remote control. Camera compatibility is verified model by model.
